Speed Darlington tells critics to “get lost” after parting ways with lawyer

Controversial Nigerian singer Speed Darlington has issued a bold message to those who are tired of supporting him, telling them to “get lost” after severing ties with his lawyer, Stanley Alieke.
The announcement came just hours after Alieke, through his law firm Law Capitol, revealed on Instagram that they were ending their professional relationship with the artist. The split followed Speed Darlington’s recent release from a lengthy detention by the Nigerian police, who had arrested him for allegedly cyberstalking his fellow musician, Burna Boy.
In a viral video shared on his Instagram, Speed Darlington expressed his frustration with critics and those advising him to back down from his ongoing feud with Burna Boy. “I’m on my way to the studio for more music. My life is my content. Let nobody tell me what to post. If you are tired of supporting, you get lost. And let my God guide me,” he said.
The singer continued, challenging his detractors: “Support, support, how many of you spend money? I spend my own money, so shut up. Let me do what I want and keep your advice to yourself. I have been there and done that; the fear is not the same.”
Speed Darlington also took a jab at Burna Boy, captioning the video with a pointed remark: “Always singing about police brutality in Nigeria. Yet he proceeds to hire police to hold me longer. And this is only what you can say? Leave him and move on.”
This latest development comes after Speed Darlington’s repeated clashes with Burna Boy, including two arrests in October and November 2024, after mocking Burna’s relationship with American rapper Diddy. In October 2024, he released a diss track titled “Baby Oil” aimed at Burna Boy and Diddy, which quickly gained popularity on Spotify Nigeria.
Since his release from detention, Darlington has continued to feature the track in his content, stating that he “went to gather energy and launch back with a banger!”
