Activist and politician Omoyele Sowore has pleaded not guilty to cybercrime charges in the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
The charges were brought against Sowore by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, after Sowore called him an “illegal IGP” on his verified X handle.
Sowore appeared before Justice Liman of the FCT High Court at about 10:00 am, where the charges were read to him. He denied all the allegations and pleaded not guilty.
In response to the trial, several of Sowore’s supporters gathered outside the court, protesting his arraignment.
