Soludo clinches APGA ticket for 2025 Anambra governorship election

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has emerged as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the November 8, 2025, election in Anambra State.

Soludo, who is seeking re-election, was returned unopposed during the party’s primary held on Saturday in Awka. He secured overwhelming support from delegates, polling 3,168 “yes” votes out of 3,172 valid votes cast, with no dissenting votes recorded.

Chairman of the APGA electoral panel, Chief Uche Nwegbo, announced the results to loud cheers from party supporters. He revealed that out of 3,260 expected delegates, 3,175 were accredited, while four votes were deemed invalid.

Delegates from all 21 local government areas of the state participated in the primary, where they were asked to affirm or reject Soludo’s candidacy by selecting either “yes” or “no” on their ballot papers.

With the overwhelming endorsement, Soludo will now fly the APGA flag in the 2025 governorship race, marking a significant step toward a potential second term in office.
