Shina Rambo denies selling second-hand clothes, clarifies business practices

On Monday, April 7, Nollywood actor Sylvester Madu, also known as Shina Rambo, has addressed rumors about his involvement in selling second-hand clothes, commonly referred to as “okrika.”

The rumors were sparked by a viral video from 2023 that showed the actor selling clothes on the floor of a market in Enugu, leading many to believe he was involved in the okrika business.

In a recent interview with media personality Patience Yisa, Madu firmly denied these claims. He explained that the location of the clothes in the video did not imply they were second-hand. “First of all, I don’t sell okrika. Those clothes I was filmed selling are not necessarily okrika because they were on the floor. I don’t sell okrika. I import from the U.S.,” Madu clarified.

Madu went on to reveal that he imports brand-new clothes from the United States and manages multiple shops across different locations, with workers handling the sales. He emphasized that he prefers to remain actively involved in his business, saying, “I don’t do big man, I go to the field to sell by myself. I have a lot of people selling for me. I have different shops. I monitor my business. I have been doing this business for over 30 years.”
