Shaun Wright-Phillips urges Chelsea to sign Jadon Sancho permanently

On Thursday, April 3, former Chelsea player Shaun Wright-Phillips recommended that his old club make Jadon Sancho’s move from Manchester United permanent at the end of the season.
Sancho joined Chelsea on a season-long loan from United last August, with an agreement in place for the Blues to buy him for between £20 million and £25 million.
When asked about the potential of Chelsea securing Sancho on a permanent deal, Wright-Phillips told Genting Casino: “It seems like [Chelsea] buy with potential in mind and what players can possibly be or become. We all know Jadon’s potential. If Chelsea worked the way Chelsea worked, they would normally sign him, because they know what he’s capable of and they’ve seen him do it.”
However, Wright-Phillips acknowledged that Sancho’s recent performances have been mixed: “But I think what is not helping at the minute is that he is not only scoring, but he is not creating enough.”
Despite this, Wright-Phillips believes that Chelsea should still take the risk: “If Chelsea are taking risks on the amount of players they are taking risks on, I don’t think he’s a bad one. We know what he has already done in a game. If he makes his way back, you’ve got a player on your hands.”
So far, Sancho has scored two goals and registered seven assists in 28 appearances for Chelsea this season.
