Segun Arinze, Emeka Ike put years of feud behind them

On Friday, April 4, veteran Nollywood actors Segun Arinze and Emeka Ike officially ended their long-standing feud, much to the delight of fans and industry colleagues alike.

The dispute between the two stars dates back to 2009, stemming from a contentious leadership battle within the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN). Arinze had won the presidency in the AGN election, which led to Ike challenging the results in court in 2010, seeking to have the election annulled.

However, in a recent interview with QED.ng’s Olumide Iyanda, Arinze revealed that the two actors have finally resolved their differences.

“Emeka Ike is a fine actor. We still talk and laugh over those things. The conflict ended naturally. We weren’t quarrelling. It was just about the AGN position. That’s why I left the position,” Arinze explained.

Reflecting on their reconciliation, he added, “What are we having enemies for? Travel light. How long do you have to live in the world that you want to carry on your shoulders? What do I need that animosity for? We are growing old. He is my friend, and I have asked him to go for lunch or dinner whenever he is around.”

This resolution marks the end of an age-old feud between two of Nollywood’s most respected figures, who now look forward to a peaceful future with no animosity between them.
