Scholes urges Manchester United to sign Osimhen or Gyokeres, backs Hojlund

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has called on the Red Devils to strengthen their attack by signing both Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres this summer.

Both forwards have been linked with potential moves to Old Trafford amid interest from several top European clubs. Scholes believes adding these players would bolster United’s striking options while giving young striker Rasmus Hojlund more time to prove himself.

Speaking on The Overlap Fan Debate, Scholes said:
“I think [Victor] Osimhen, it sounds like a doable one. When you talk about financial problems, Osimhen could be doable. But I would keep [Rasmus] Hojlund. I know he has not been great, but he’s a 22-year-old kid playing on his own for Manchester United the last two years.”

He emphasized the need for depth in the striking department:
“Manchester United should have at least three top centre forwards. I would have him and Osimhen. Him, Osimhen and Gyokeres.”

This comes shortly after United secured the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves, indicating the club’s intent to revamp its attacking lineup ahead of the new season.
