Sallah: FG declares two days public holiday

The Federal Government has announced a two-day public holiday to commemorate this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.

According to a statement released on Monday by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Magdalene Ajani, the holiday will be observed on Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025.

The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and around the world on the occasion. He urged the Muslim Ummah to reflect on the values of sacrifice and faith as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him), and to use the period to pray for peace and prosperity in Nigeria.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo also reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to implementing people-centered reforms under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at putting Nigeria back on the path of progress.

While wishing the Muslim community a joyous Eid-ul-Adha, the minister called on all Nigerians to support the current administration in its mission to restore the nation’s greatness.
