The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has denied recent social media rumors that the Local Government Council elections set for October 5, have been postponed.
RSIEC Chairman, Rt. Justice Adolphus Enebeli called the rumors false and baseless, making it clear that no official statement about changing the election date has been made.
In a statement released on Tuesday, August 13, Enebeli urged everyone to ignore the rumours. He reassured the public that the schedule for the local government elections is still on track, with the election date remaining as planned.
