Relief as missing daughter of actress Jumoke George found alive in Mali

There is a wave of relief and cautious optimism in the Nigerian entertainment community as Adeola, the 41-year-old daughter of veteran actress Jumoke George, who was previously declared missing, has been found alive in Mali.

The update came late Wednesday night, May 14, from Talk to B show host Biola Bayo, who had earlier interviewed Jumoke George in an emotional appeal for support amid her health and financial struggles. During the segment, the actress tearfully revealed her daughter had been missing and pleaded for assistance.

Biola Bayo took to Instagram to share the news following a video call with Adeola, confirming that she is alive and currently in Mali.

“I finally got to speak with Adeola and this is what she said. She hasn’t called her mom, but Mom is happy she’s alive,” Bayo posted.

She also provided an update on Jumoke George’s condition, stating:

“@Jumoke George is currently at a state hospital in Lagos. Hopefully, she will be discharged or admitted after all her medical tests and reports. Not sure yet. Thank you to everyone for the support.”

While details surrounding how Adeola ended up in Mali remain unclear, the development has brought a measure of comfort to George, who is reportedly still undergoing medical evaluation.

The story has touched many Nigerians, highlighting both the personal pain behind public figures and the ongoing issues surrounding missing persons, especially women, in and beyond Nigeria.

More updates are expected as communication between mother and daughter resumes and authorities potentially begin inquiries into Adeola’s disappearance and stay in Mali.
