Real Madrid in talks with Liverpool over early transfer of Trent Alexander-Arnold for Club World Cup

Real Madrid have initiated talks with Liverpool to potentially secure Trent Alexander-Arnold’s early transfer, aiming to have him available for their Club World Cup campaign in June.
The 26-year-old right-back’s current contract with Liverpool is set to expire on June 30, but Madrid hopes to bring him in before that date, in time for their opening game against Al Hilal on June 18 in Miami.
Sky Sports reports that Alexander-Arnold, who has already decided to leave Anfield this summer, could join Madrid early if Liverpool agrees to the deal.
However, if the Premier League side refuses, the defender may still feature for Madrid in the later stages of the tournament.
This would mean missing Madrid’s group games against Al Hilal (June 18), Pachuca (June 22), and Salzburg (June 27), but he would still be eligible to join the team during the special transfer window between June 27 and July 3.
