Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham has sustained a muscular injury to his right leg during Friday’s training session, the club has confirmed.
Bellingham, who was instrumental in Real Madrid’s La Liga triumph last season with 19 goals, is now expected to be sidelined until after the international break in mid-September.
The club’s statement revealed: “After tests carried out today by Real Madrid’s medical team, Jude Bellingham has been diagnosed with an injury to the Plantaris muscle in his right leg.”
Real Madrid will face Real Valladolid at the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday for their first home game of the season. The team started their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Mallorca last weekend.
