Priscilla Ojo, Nigerian influencer and daughter of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, has converted from Christianity to Islam, according to her husband, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.
Jux confirmed her religious conversion during an interview with Afrik Media, revealing that while the decision took time, it eventually came after guidance from Islamic religious leaders. The couple had a highly publicised wedding earlier this year that spanned both Nigeria and Tanzania, drawing attention across the African entertainment space.
“It was a little difficult convincing my wife to become a Muslim,” Jux admitted. “But I was receiving lessons from religious leaders on how to approach it. With time, she understood.”
The singer said the clerics advised him on how to manage the matter delicately, and through that process, Priscilla gradually came to understand Islam, leading to her eventual acceptance of the faith.
Speaking about their elaborate wedding, Jux described it as a dream fulfilled. “I knew everything when it came to my wedding. I had a dream about it. I was so lucky to find someone who wants the same thing as I do,” he said.
Priscilla, who is also a fashion entrepreneur and lifestyle personality, has yet to issue a public statement regarding her conversion.
