President Tinubu to attend Joint Arab-Islamic summit in Saudi Arabia on Middle East crisis
President Bola Tinubu will travel from Nigeria to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday to participate in the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit, where he is set to join leaders from across the region to address the ongoing Middle East crisis.
The summit, which begins on Monday, is convened by Saudi King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to address regional instability, particularly the Israel-Palestinian conflict.
According to presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu will urge an immediate ceasefire and advocate for a peaceful resolution, reaffirming Nigeria’s support for the two-state solution as a sustainable path to lasting peace. This event follows last year’s summit in Riyadh and marks another high-level engagement on Middle Eastern affairs.
Accompanying President Tinubu will be senior government officials, including Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Information Minister Mohammed Idris, and National Intelligence Agency Director-General Mohammed Mohammed. After the summit, Tinubu and his delegation are expected to return to Abuja.
