Marcus Rashford calls out “abuse”

Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford, has said the criticism he has received so far this season is “abuse.”

The England international has scored only eight times in 40 appearances this campaign.

It has led to the 26-year-old facing fire from fans and pundits.

Rashford, quoting a post on X, formerly Twitter, which claimed the way he has been treated is “absolutely disgusting” and “cruel”, said the level of criticism has become too much.

He wrote: “It is abuse and has been for months. Enough is enough.”

Rashford, who hit 30 goals in all competitions last season, was dropped to the bench by manager Erik ten Hag for two matches following a poor performance in United’s 1-0 defeat at Newcastle in December while also having his off-field behavior criticized by the Dutch manager.
