Police arrest man with human skulls, uncover stolen tricycle syndicate in Ebonyi

On Wednesday, March 5, the Ebonyi State Police Command made a major breakthrough with the arrest of Ovuta Chigozie, a man caught with two human skulls and three locally made guns.

Chigozie, from the Okoffia community in Ezza South Local Government Area, admitted during questioning that the skulls were given to him for preparing a spiritual concoction. Authorities are also pursuing another individual linked to this case.

In a separate operation, police tracked a stolen tricycle and uncovered a criminal group involved in altering the colours of stolen tricycles from nearby states. Four suspects—Nweke Chukwudi, Nwankwo Obinna, John Abba, and Uche Abba—were arrested, and three stolen tricycles were recovered. The suspects confessed to receiving the vehicles for colour modifications.

The police spokesperson, SP Joshua Ukandu, confirmed the arrests in a statement and assured the public that the suspects would be charged to court after the investigations are complete. The Ebonyi State Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property in the state.
