Pheelz emphasizes that music is not a get-rich-quick scheme

Nigerian singer and producer Philip Kayode, better known as Pheelz, has clarified that music should not be viewed as a get-rich-quick scheme, a notion held by some in society.

He articulated that music serves deeper spiritual purposes, emphasizing its healing power. In a post on his X handle, Pheelz stated: “Music is not a grind. It is not a get-rich-quick scheme. It is not a hustle. Music is life. Music is feeling. Music is healing. Music is God.”

Additionally, the ‘Finesse’ hitmaker elaborated on the distinction between music and the music business, describing the latter as a human attempt to commodify divine energy. He wrote, “The music and the music business are two different frequencies to me. The Music Business is man’s attempt to commodify God’s energy. The Music itself is God.”

This perspective comes amid reports that many emerging Afrobeats artists, as well as established stars, have cited financial struggles as a significant inspiration for their musical careers.
