Ogun APC expresses condolences to Minister Iziaq Salako over mother’s passing

On Thursday, March 6, 2025, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State extended their condolences to the Minister of State for Health, Iziaq Salako, following the passing of his mother, Alhaja Fadilat Anike Salako. She passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at the age of 95.
Salako shared the sad news in a brief statement from Ayetoro town, Ogun State, saying, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. With deep gratitude to Almighty Allah for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Alhaja Fadilat Anike Salako, who returned to her Creator on the night of 5th March 2025 at the age of 95.”
He also stated that she would be laid to rest in Ayetoro, Yewa North LG, Ogun State, at 4 pm on Thursday, March 6, 2025, according to Islamic funeral rites.
The APC Publicity Secretary, Tunde Oladunjoye, shared a message from APC State Chairman Yemi Sanusi, who expressed sympathy and highlighted the spiritual significance of her passing during the holy month of Ramadan. Sanusi said, “The death of one’s close relative, especially a mother, even at the advanced age of 95 years, is always very painful and emotionally exerting. It is on this note that we not only sympathize with you but also ask you, as a devout Muslim yourself, to take solace in the fact that from Allah we all came, and to Him we shall all return.”
Sanusi also praised Alhaja Fadilat’s legacy, noting that her children, including Minister Salako, continue to serve the nation selflessly. He concluded with a prayer, “May Allah grant Mama Aljannah Firdaus and give the Salako family, relatives, friends, and associates the grace to bear this irreparable loss.”
