Odumodublvck responds to misogyny allegations, defends support for female artists

Nigerian hip-hop artist Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has spoken out in defense of himself following accusations of misogyny.

The controversy began after Odumodublvck was accused of misogynistic lyrics in his 2023 collaborative track with Shallipopi, ‘Cast’, in which he suggested that some women might only be able to afford wigs and designer handbags by sleeping with men.

During a recent interview with The Beat FM in Lagos on Thursday, May 8, Odumodublvck dismissed the allegations, calling them “fake” and unfounded. He argued that his support for women in the music industry shows that he is far from a misogynist.

“In the last year, I am the artist that has featured the most women in the game. What kind of misogynist is that? That’s a fake one,” he said.

The artist emphasized his efforts to collaborate with female artists, stating that his actions over the past year should speak louder than the lyrics in the controversial track. His comments aim to shift the focus away from the accusations and highlight his contributions to supporting women in the Nigerian music scene.
