Nwosu resigns from Anambra PDP after unfair treatment
On Friday, January 10, 2025, Samben Nwosu, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra, announced his resignation from the party. Nwosu, a founding member of the PDP, made his decision known in a letter addressed to the Otolo Ward I, Nnewi secretariat, which was shared with the press in Awka.
In his letter, Nwosu explained that recent events had forced him to reassess his position within the party, despite his years of commitment to its values of promoting democracy. He expressed frustration with the “unfair treatment” and “orchestrated embarrassments” from certain political figures within the party.
He highlighted one of the key issues that led to his resignation: “The most popular of such embarrassments was the pseudo-signing of a suspension letter by an unknown organ of the party, without due process or proper notification to myself.”
Nwosu also referred to the upcoming senatorial election rerun as an opportunity to demonstrate that a “prepared mind is better than a monetized mind.” He made it clear that his decision to leave the PDP was not an easy one, given his long-standing dedication to the party.
Nwosu previously served as a Federal Commissioner at the Public Complaints Commission, and his resignation marks a significant shift in the political landscape of Anambra State.
