NPFL: Ikorodu City must target top-three finish, says Aweroro
Ikorodu City interim coach, Nurudeen Aweroro, has called on his players to set their sights higher in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) this season, urging them to aim for a top-three finish.
Speaking on Friday, November 29, 2024, Aweroro emphasized the importance of motivation and encouragement as the Oga Boys continue to fight for a strong position in the league. Currently in fifth place with 21 points, Ikorodu City remains unbeaten in their last few matches.
Aweroro credited the team’s midweek victory over El-Kanemi Warriors as a key boost to the players’ confidence, noting that the win provides the momentum they need to climb higher in the NPFL standings.
“The win over El-Kanemi Warriors has given us the opportunity to climb up on the NPFL standing,” Aweroro told NPFL media. “The players need to be encouraged to aim higher on the log.”
Ikorodu City will face Akwa United next at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan this Sunday.
