Normalcy returns to Rivers, Fubara appreciates Tinubu’s kindness

Rivers State Governor Simi Fubara has vowed not to take President Bola Tinubu’s kindness for granted, declaring that normalcy has returned to the state following his six-month suspension.
The governor, who spoke at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Friday after his return, also expressed deep gratitude to his supporters for standing by him during the period of political uncertainty.
Fubara was received by a jubilant crowd of supporters who trooped out to celebrate his reinstatement. He commended the people of Rivers State for their solidarity and patience throughout the suspension, noting that their unwavering support sustained him.
“I appreciate everyone who gave support to bring normalcy back to Rivers State. I know everybody wants to hear something from me. In fact, I expected it when I landed,” the governor said.
He further assured residents of his continued commitment to governance, promising to deliver on policies and projects that endeared his administration to the people. “We will, by the grace of God, continue to give those things that made you people love us. I won’t take President Tinubu’s kindness for granted,” Fubara added.
The suspension, imposed by President Tinubu amid political tensions in the state, had sparked concerns about governance and stability in Rivers. With Fubara’s return, stakeholders have expressed optimism about restored calm in the oil-rich state.
