NLC sets the record straight on August 1 protests
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) is clearing the air, saying they didn’t organize the oncoming nationwide August 1 protest against hunger and high living costs, and therefore can’t withdraw from it.
NLC stands with Nigerians who are struggling due to harsh economic policies. They’re calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to listen to the protesters’ demands and work towards a solution.
NLC warns that using brute force against protesters will only make things worse. Instead, they urge the government to engage in dialogue and find a way forward that works for everyone.
NLC reminds the government that the voice of the people is powerful and should be heard. They’re pushing for a resolution that addresses the concerns of Nigerians and brings relief to those struggling.
