NLC President Ajaero fixes date to report to Police, asks for details of allegations

Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President Joe Ajaero has set a date to respond to an invitation from the Nigeria Police Force.

Ajaero will attend the Police inquiry on Wednesday, August 29. He communicated this through a letter from his lawyers, Falana and Falana Chambers, addressed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

The NLC President was summoned in connection with allegations of criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, treasonable felony, subversion, and cybercrime.

In the letter, signed by Samuel Ogala, Ajaero also requested details about the allegations against him.

The letter stated: “Ajaero is prepared for the interview on Wednesday, August 29, 2024. Furthermore, in line with Section 36 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), Ajaero requests details and the nature of the allegations of criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, treasonable felony, subversion, and cybercrime against him. We await your response and assure you of our highest regard.”
