Nigerian rappers shine in 2024 BET Hip Hop awards nomination
Nigerian music sensation Odumodublvck has made history as the sole Nigerian nominee at the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards, vying for the Best International Flow category.
Odumodublvck will face stiff competition from global rappers, including France’s SDM and Leys Mc, Brazil’s Racionais Mcs and Budah, UK’s Ghetts, Bashy, and Stefflon Don, and South Africa’s Maglera Doe Boy and Blxckie.
Fellow Nigerian Burna Boy also secured a nomination for Best Live Performance, alongside hip-hop heavyweights Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, Nicki Minaj, Busta Rhymes, Cardi B, GloRilla, Megan Thee Stallion, and Missy Elliott.
“Odumodublvck’s nomination is a testament to Nigeria’s thriving hip-hop scene,” said music critic, Michael Oyanni. “This recognition will further propel Nigerian music onto the global stage.”
