Soludo’s Christmas rice rebagged and shared with APGA members, Anambra APC complains

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State is raising concerns about what they call the unfair influence of the Chukwuma Soludo-led All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) over the state’s involvement with the Federal Government, led by President Bola Tinubu.
On Saturday, February 8, 2025, the chairman of the APC in Anambra, Mr. Basil Ejidike, shared how the APGA’s dominance has become a challenge for APC members in the state. He explained that all appointments from the Federal Government have mostly gone to APGA nominees, and even the rice distributed last Christmas to help people with the cost of living had been repackaged, with Governor Soludo’s picture and APGA logo added, then shared only with APGA members.
Ejidike said: “Sir, may I seize this opportunity to draw your attention to some challenges confronting the APC in Anambra State that require your kind intervention.”
He continued, “The issue of appointments made by the Federal government without recourse to the party is harmful to the growth and success of the party in our state. These appointees don’t consider the party at the state level.”
The APC leader also pointed out that many loyal party members who had made big sacrifices for the party had not been rewarded or appreciated, while others, mostly from APGA, received the important federal appointments.
Ejidike added, “This situation is not motivating our members, and it’s weakening our strength and enthusiasm for winning the Anambra 2025 election.”
He further explained that, “At the ward, local government, and state levels, our members are being left out, as APGA only focuses on their own members when distributing government positions and benefits.”
Ejidike said a major concern is how federal palliatives, such as bags of rice, were sent to Anambra. These were rebagged with Governor Soludo’s image and the APGA logo, creating the impression that it was Soludo who provided the rice, not the federal government. He explained that this move has hurt APC’s reputation and influence in the state.
The APC leader said: “This arrangement is weakening our party’s reach and influence in Anambra, and we are deeply concerned.”
He made a passionate plea for intervention, asking President Tinubu to step in and help APC members in Anambra, who feel neglected. “Your kind intervention, Sir, will boost the morale of our party members and help us move forward with our goals,” he said.
