The naira fell against the dollar on Friday, August 16, at the official foreign exchange market to end the week on a negative note.
FMDQ data showed that the naira depreciated to N 1579.89 per dollar from N1,564.4 exchanged on Tuesday, August 13, which represents a N15.41 depreciation.
Meanwhile, the naira remained unchanged at N1600 per dollar at the black market on Friday, the same as the previous day.
In the week under review, the naira experienced mixed fortunes against the dollar following the introduction of the Retail Dutch Auction System by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
