Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has dismissed claims from former presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar that the APC is responsible for the current problems within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme on Tuesday, January 29, Morka stated that it was unfortunate that Atiku and other PDP members were not focusing on their party’s internal issues. Instead, they were blaming the APC for destabilizing their party.
Morka responded to earlier accusations made by Atiku, who claimed that APC members had paid opposition leaders N50 million each to undermine Nigeria’s democracy. Morka flatly denied the claim, stating that the APC is too focused on its own affairs to engage in such actions.
“The PDP is imploding. That is clear to everyone,” Morka said. “But it is not because of APC or anything we’ve done. We’re minding our business, sorting out our own internal issues, and preparing for whatever challenges lie ahead. The PDP should focus on their own problems too.”
He went on to criticize Atiku and the PDP for their failure to manage their own internal matters. “Only very bad workmen blame the tools,” Morka added. “In this case, the PDP has proven completely unable to manage their own affairs. How can they claim they are capable of governing Nigeria when they can’t even handle their own party?”
