Mohbad’s father claims he paid N16m for second autopsy, challenges pathologist to deny it

Joseph Aloba, the father of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has revealed that he paid ₦16 million to a pathologist for an independent second autopsy on his son’s body. He made the statement during a TikTok live session on Friday, May 9, pushing back against reports suggesting a lower amount.

“With all sincerity, I paid the first tranche of N16 million to the pathologist. After that, I spent close to N2 million. So, if the pathologist can come out to deny my claim, then don’t believe me again,” Aloba said.
“Some people were saying it was N12 million that I paid, but I’m still telling you now that I paid N16 million.”

His comments come about a month after the release of an independent autopsy and forensic review by Dr. Uwom Eze, which failed to establish a definitive cause of Mohbad’s death.

The second autopsy was authorized in June 2024 by Magistrate T.A. Shotobi of the Ikorodu Coroner Court, after Aloba received permission to hire a licensed private pathologist for the procedure.

The singer’s mysterious death has remained a topic of public interest and speculation, with calls for justice still echoing from fans and family.
