Mohbad: VeryDarkMan shares voice recording, gives Zlatan Ibile 48 hours to respond

On Monday, June 30, Nigerian social media activist Vincent Otse Martins, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, shared an alleged voice recording featuring Nigerian music promoter Sam Larry and singer Zlatan Ibile discussing the circumstances surrounding the death of the late singer Mohbad.

The recording, which has since gone viral, features Zlatan speaking in Yoruba, expressing reluctance to get involved in the controversies surrounding Mohbad’s death due to the drama that speaking out on social media could provoke.

VeryDarkMan posted the audio on his Instagram page and issued a 48-hour ultimatum demanding that Zlatan publicly address the situation and explain his silence during the initial calls for justice for Mohbad.

Responding to critics who questioned why he was reopening the case, VeryDarkMan said many were not genuine in their pursuit of justice. He reaffirmed his commitment to seeking answers, pointing out that Mohbad has not yet been buried.

He further accused some individuals who allegedly knew the truth but used intimidation tactics to suppress it. “I am going to be playing a voice recording between Zlatan and Sam Larry, during the time Mohbad died. Now I expect in 48 hours Zlatan will come out to explain what he knows and why he did not speak out when we were seeking justice for Mohbad,” he stated.

He added, “I see a lot of comments saying, ‘VDM why did you bring this case back?’ It shows many of you are ingrates. I deliberately brought this case back because I see many have moved on, and that is why our government cannot take us seriously — because we are so quick to move on.”

“I really want to get justice for the boy. He has not been buried, and his spirit is moving around, while some people knew the truth, they distracted everybody and used bullying to cover it up. And you, Zlatan, you kept quiet.”

VeryDarkMan concluded: “I don start that case again; anybody wey no like am make e enter bush. But you are not a real person if you ask me why I brought back the case again. So you want to make the case go down and say you wanted justice for the boy? You all are fake — a lot of you are fake.”

While some social media users supported Zlatan for maintaining his silence, others urged him to come forward and share his side of the story.
