Michael Owen backtracks, names new team as title favourite

Former Liverpool star Michael Owen has reversed his earlier prediction and now believes Arsenal will secure the Premier League title this season. He also foresees Liverpool finishing in second place.

Owen’s shift in opinion contrasts sharply with his previous endorsement of Manchester City, whom he had predicted would win their fifth consecutive title. Now, Owen suggests that Manchester City might fall to fourth place, with Aston Villa taking the third spot.

In a conversation with Casino Hawks, Owen expressed his thoughts on the potential shake-up in the league standings. He remarked, “In terms of the order [of teams’ finishes], my thought process is if City are not gonna win it, they could actually drop away a little bit.”

Owen further elaborated, “It’s almost like if City are not gonna be really in the race after 10 games then their priority could go elsewhere – I think there could be a big surprise this season.”

His revised predictions are Arsenal in first place, Liverpool in second, Aston Villa in third, and Manchester City in fourth.
