Mercy Chinwo accuses former label boss Eezee Concept of trying to destroy her career

Renowned Nigerian gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has come forward with serious allegations against her former label boss, Ezekiel ThankGod, better known as Eezee Concept. In a statement issued through her lawyers on Saturday, January 25, Chinwo addressed the ongoing legal dispute with her former manager, accusing him of attempting to sabotage her career.

In a post shared on her Instagram, Chinwo reflected on her journey with Eezee Concept, which began when she worked as a background singer before eventually becoming one of his signed artists. The mother of one also revealed that she signed her first contract in 2017, but claims the dates on the document were later altered to 2019.

According to Chinwo, Eezee Concept proposed extending her initial five-year contract to an astonishing 12 years, a suggestion she rejected due to her personal and professional aspirations. However, four years into their partnership, Chinwo says the relationship turned toxic, describing the situation as one of verbal and emotional abuse.

“I will deal with you, I will mess you up, I made you who you are. I can shut you up, and nobody will hear you again, and I will destroy your career,” Chinwo alleges Eezee Concept told her during their interactions.

Further claiming mistreatment, Chinwo accused the music producer of misleading event organizers about her availability, hindering her opportunities to perform. Despite the turmoil, Chinwo made it clear that she is not seeking a lawsuit for her music catalog but instead only wants the first three pages and the execution page of the altered 2017 contract to be released publicly.

The gospel star’s statement brings to light the troubled dynamics of her relationship with Eezee Concept, a situation she insists has had a significant emotional toll on her career.
