MEMAN reassures Nigerians of petrol availability, urges against panic buying
The Major Energies Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN) has assured Nigerians of ample petrol supply, urging citizens not to engage in panic buying.
In a statement released Wednesday, MEMAN Chairman Clement Isong confirmed that the association maintains a “significant stock of products” in its tanks, with no concerns regarding access to the supply. Isong emphasized that the industry’s diversification and deregulation allow marketers to proactively manage supply needs, making adjustments as necessary to prevent product shortages.
MEMAN projects no imminent or near-term outages, citing continued improvements in supply efficiency and logistics. “We urge the public not to panic-buy petroleum products, as our supply efficiency continues to improve, and logistics optimization begins to set in,” the statement read.
Isong also pledged that MEMAN members would remain committed to enhancing supply chain efficiency and minimizing costs to maintain petrol accessibility and affordability in an increasingly competitive market.
