Marcus Thuram names only two players better than Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal in world football

Inter Milan star Marcus Thuram has named the only two players currently better than Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal in world football.
Both Thuram and Yamal were on the scoresheet during the thrilling UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg at Camp Nou on Wednesday, which ended in a 3-3 draw. Yamal’s first-half goal made history, as it saw him become the youngest player to ever score in a Champions League semi-final, surpassing the previous record held by Kylian Mbappé.
Following the match, Thuram was asked if he considered Yamal to be the best player in the world at the moment. The Frenchman responded by naming two players he believes are ahead of the young talent.
“No… The best player in the world is French,” Thuram said, as quoted by @TouchlineX. “And the second best too. After that, Lamine Yamal… The best players are Dembélé and Mbappé.”
Thuram’s comments come as both teams prepare for the Champions League semi-final second leg at San Siro next week, where the contest for a spot in the final will intensify.
