Madonna reacts to Donald Trump’s 2024 Election victory, expresses frustration over women’s rights

Pop legend Madonna has voiced her strong disapproval following Donald Trump’s win in the 2024 U.S. presidential election. Taking to Instagram, the Queen of Pop shared her reaction with her millions of followers, posting a photo of a cake with the words “F— Trump” written on it, which she captioned, “Stuffed my face with this cake last night.”

The 65-year-old singer also expressed her shock and frustration in a more serious tone, reflecting on Trump’s return to the presidency. In one post, she wrote, “Trying to get my head around why a convicted felon, rapist, bigot was chosen to lead our country because he’s good for the economy?” She followed up with another message, questioning the nation’s treatment of women, stating, “America hates Women!” and criticizing the country’s seeming disregard for women’s rights and freedom.

Madonna also took aim at Trump’s supporters, saying many voters appeared willing to accept a dictatorship in exchange for lower taxes. She voiced her concern over the state of democracy in the U.S., saying, “They want lower taxes, but they don’t mind if they live in a Totalitarian government to get them.” The “Material Girl” singer emphasized that the struggle for women’s rights is far from over, asking, “How could women vote for Trump? We fought for so long for so much!”

Despite her disappointment, Madonna assured her followers that she wasn’t giving up hope for the future. Before the election, Madonna had publicly endorsed Kamala Harris, sharing photos from her trip to Paris and expressing support for the Vice President’s candidacy.

Trump secured 295 electoral college votes, defeating Harris, and will return to the White House for a second term. His victory comes after a highly contentious first term marked by two impeachment trials, criminal charges, and an attempt to overturn the 2020 election results.
