Levi Colwill fires Premier League warning after Chelsea’s Club World Cup triumph

Chelsea defender Levi Colwill has issued a bold warning to Premier League and European rivals ahead of the 2025/26 season, saying the Blues are fully prepared to compete for the Premier League and Champions League titles.
Colwill made the comments after Chelsea’s stunning 3-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the final of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, held in the United States. The triumph marked a historic moment for the club, as they lifted the first edition of the revamped tournament.
Speaking to the BBC, the 21-year-old English centre-back said:
“I said at the start of this tournament that our plan was to win it and people looked at me as if I was crazy.
So I’m going to say the exact same thing now going into the Premier League and Champions League. I think we’re ready and we’ll see next season.”
Colwill played a key role throughout the Club World Cup, featuring in five matches and helping manager Enzo Maresca’s side maintain a solid defensive record en route to the title.
Chelsea’s dominant win over European champions PSG sent shockwaves across the football world, reigniting talk of a Blues resurgence under their new-look squad and leadership.
With stars like Enzo Fernández, Cole Palmer, and Christopher Nkunku complementing a young, dynamic team, Colwill’s confidence signals Chelsea’s ambition to re-establish themselves among Europe’s elite.
The 2025/26 season will mark a major test for Maresca’s Chelsea, but if their Club World Cup run is any indication, the west London club could indeed be gearing up for a serious title push both at home and abroad.
