Lagos PDP chieftain claims Jandor came to spy and ruin the party

On Monday, March 17, 2025, the Lagos State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) reacted to the defection of the party’s 2023 governorship candidate, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, also known as Jandor, to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Hakeem Olalemi, the State PDP Vice Chairman (Central), made it clear that the party would not miss Jandor, suggesting that his exit was no surprise. Olalemi claimed that Jandor’s role in the party was to “spy and ruin” the PDP in Lagos.
“He (Adediran) is a human being, and the Nigerian Constitution allows freedom of association. He is free to resign from any group or party and join any group he wants,” Olalemi said.
He added, “We will miss his shenanigans, comedy, and cunningness, but we will not miss anything good about him in the party because he has caused a lot of damage to our party in Lagos State. He came to our party to spy, and he ruined the party.”
Olalemi assured the public that the PDP would rebuild and strengthen its position in Lagos, stating, “We are assuring the public that we are going to pick up the party from where it is now and take it to its Eldorado by 2027, by the special grace of God.”
Adediran, a former APC governorship aspirant and leader of the Lagos4Lagos Movement, had previously defected from APC to PDP in 2021.
In the 2023 Lagos governorship election, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu was re-elected with 762,134 votes, defeating his closest rival, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party, who received 312,329 votes. Adediran, the PDP’s candidate, came in third place with 62,449 votes.
