Speaking on the premiere episode of his new Apple Music show, The King’s Music Room, King Charles expressed his enthusiasm for the language and stated his intention to speak Pidgin when he visits Nigeria in the future.

During the show, the monarch discussed his diverse musical preferences, with Davido’s hit song “Kante,” featuring Fave, standing out as one of his personal favorites. “Davido has made me love Pidgin language. I would like to speak it the next time I visit Nigeria. Thanks to Afrobeats, it’s becoming more popular around the world,” King Charles remarked.

In response to the compliment, Davido shared the moment on his Instagram story, giving a shout-out to the royal family and expressing his gratitude for the recognition. This marks yet another sign of Afrobeats’ growing influence globally, transcending cultures and making an impact even within the British monarchy.
