Kano State lifts curfew

As Kano State begins to recover from the recent #EndBadGovernance protests, the Government has decided to lift the curfew that was imposed on the city.

The protests had resulted in significant violence, with extensive damage and looting of property estimated in billions of naira.

Initially, a full 24-hour curfew was enforced, later adjusted to a 12-hour period from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm to allow for some business activities.

On Monday, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s media aide, Salisu Yahya Hotoro, shared a statement on the Governor’s Facebook page, announcing the end of the curfew. The statement read: “The 24-hour curfew imposed on Kano has been effectively lifted as peace has completely returned to the city.”
