Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has stated that he expects defender Jurrien Timber to return from injury early enough to still feature this season, Fabrizio Romano has reported.
Arteta said the defender is getting closer to full fitness and it would not be long before he’s match-fit again.
Timber got injured in the first game of the current Premier League season, against Nottingham Forest at the Emirates in August 2023. The Netherlands international has been out since then.
Arsenal fans will be hoping the Dutch defender returns soon, as the Premier League run-in has just started and they need all their top players back in the ranks, available for selection.
Timber arrived at Arsenal at the beginning of this season for €40 million, and it’s safe to say the North Londoners are yet to enjoy his services.
