Julien Arnold dies suddenly during Christmas Carol performance at 60

On Thursday, November 28, the stage world was struck by tragedy as popular Canadian actor Julien Arnold passed away at the age of 60. Arnold, best known for his remarkable stage performances, reportedly suffered a medical emergency while performing in A Christmas Carol at Edmonton’s Citadel Theatre.

According to a statement from Kerry Williamson, a spokesperson for Alberta Health Services, Arnold died on site after multiple attempts to resuscitate him failed. He was unable to be revived, and his sudden death has left the theater community in mourning.

In response to his passing, Citadel Theatre’s Executive Director Jessie van Rijn and Artistic Director Daryl Cloran shared heartfelt tributes: “His presence brought joy, heart, and depth to every role. His artistic contributions will be deeply missed.” Arnold’s sudden loss has left a profound void in the arts community, where he was known for his talent and dedication.
