John Terry taunts James Maddison over Tottenham’s Europa League victory

Chelsea legend John Terry has humorously mocked James Maddison after Tottenham Hotspur clinched their first major trophy in 17 years with a 1-0 win over Manchester United in the Europa League final on Wednesday.
Tottenham secured the victory with a first-half goal from Brennan Johnson at Bilbao’s San Mames Stadium, marking a historic moment for the club. However, Maddison, who was sidelined due to injury, was unable to play in the final. Despite not being on the pitch, the 28-year-old joined in the post-match celebrations with his teammates.
When asked why he changed into a Tottenham shirt for the celebrations, Maddison told TNT Sports, “They said I had to, to get the medal. I didn’t want to do a John Terry when he went on with full kit [after Chelsea won the 2012 Champions League despite not playing in the final due to injury] and shin pads, but what a special feeling.”
Terry, known for his cheeky sense of humor, responded to Maddison’s remarks on Instagram with a playful jab. He posted, “I remember my first trophy. Ah bless them [laughing emoji] 16 to go. After that performance I think you [Maddison] have a chance. You just have to live for 900 years [laughing emoji].”
