Jigawa governor approves minor cabinet reshuffle, to take effect immediately

On Monday, May 5, 2025, Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi approved a minor reshuffling of his cabinet.
The State Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, Sagir Musa Ahmed, made the announcement during a press briefing following the State Executive Council meeting.
According to Ahmed, after thorough discussions, the Secretary to the State Government announced the changes in the cabinet. The reshuffle includes the following:
- Muhammed Alhassan, the Commissioner for Land, Housing, Urban Development, and Regional Planning, will now head the Ministry of Water Resources.
- Ibrahim Garba Hannun Giwa, the Commissioner for Water Resources, has been reassigned to the Ministry for Local Government and Community Development.
- Ahmed Garba, the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development, will move to the Ministry of Land, Housing, Urban Development, and Regional Planning.
The reshuffle takes effect immediately, with the affected officials expected to report to their new offices no later than May 19, 2025.
