Jennifer Lopez prepares for big return as host of 2025 American Music Awards

Global pop icon Jennifer Lopez is set to make her highly anticipated return to the stage as the host of the 2025 American Music Awards, taking place on May 26 at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas.
The “On The Floor” singer revealed she has been rehearsing for weeks in preparation for what she described as her “first big television performance in a while,” following a year-long hiatus. “I took last year off and I went back in [and] my first thing was doing a movie,” Lopez told E! News. “So, this is getting back into my performance mode in a way.”
While staying tight-lipped about specific performance details, Lopez shared that she is “excited” to return and celebrate the year in music. She credited her creative process to her long-time collaborator, Tabitha Dumo, noting that the performance concept has evolved significantly over recent weeks.
In addition to her hosting duties, Lopez expressed excitement about honoring music legends Janet Jackson and Gloria Estefan at the event. Jackson will receive the prestigious Icon Award, a moment Lopez described as personal, having worked with the singer early in her own career.
Lopez also praised Estefan as a “pioneer for Latin music,” highlighting the timing of the tribute as Latin music continues to dominate global charts. Estefan is set to perform at the AMAs for the first time in over 30 years.
As anticipation builds for the award show, Lopez’s return promises a memorable night for music fans worldwide.
