Jay-Z crowned greatest rapper of all time by Forbes, topping star-studded list
Forbes has officially named American rapper Sean Carter, better known as Jay-Z, the greatest rapper of all time. On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, the publication unveiled its highly anticipated 50 Greatest Rappers of All Time list, celebrating the legends of hip-hop.
Jay-Z secured the top spot, with Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, J. Cole, and Tupac rounding out the top five at positions 2, 3, 4, and 5, respectively.
The list, which includes some of the genre’s most influential artists, also features Drake at number 6, Kanye West at 7, Nicki Minaj at 8, Nas at 9, and Eminem at 10.
Other notable names include Andre 3000 (11), The Notorious B.I.G (12), Missy Elliott (13), Chuck D (14), A$AP Rocky (15), Lil’ Kim (16), Tyler, the Creator (17), Snoop Dogg (18), Ghostface Killah (19), and Common (20).
The list also recognizes popular figures like 50 Cent (24), Ice Cube (25), Juice WRLD (27), Lauryn Hill (28), Dr. Dre (29), Queen Latifah (30), Busta Rhymes (32), Future (33), Childish Gambino (34), Bad Bunny (40), Pusha T (46), Cardi B (48), and Young Thug (49).
