Jaruma reveals marriage was a response to criticism over selling sex products

Controversial self-proclaimed sex therapist Hauwa Mohammed, known as Jaruma, has opened up about her marriage and the reasons behind it.

In an interview with the “Issues and Society” podcast, Jaruma explained that she married Ross Fahad Isabor in 2018, primarily to avoid backlash she faced for selling aphrodisiacs as a single woman. The couple divorced in 2021 and has one child together.

She stated, “There was massive criticism from the north because I was selling sex products as a single lady. They wondered why people allowed a single lady to teach them what happens in the bedroom for lots of money.”

Jaruma noted the challenges she faced but emphasized her success in the industry, having made N760 million in three years. “I thought the industry would not die, and I can’t just leave because of the heat I was going through. I just said if marriage is the problem, let me just do it.

“I didn’t get married because of love; I got married a month after meeting my ex-husband just to get away from the pressure I got from the north.”

She added that her ex-husband was aware of her motivations: “He knew it was not for love but pressure because I told him.”

In 2022, Ross Fahad Isabor publicly urged Jaruma to stop using his name to promote her products, calling them “fake.”
