Iyabo Ojo defends daughter Priscilla against Tanzanian media personality

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has strongly defended her daughter, Priscilla Ojo, following critical comments by Tanzanian media personality Mange Kimambi, who accused the young influencer and her Tanzanian husband, Juma Jux, of distracting Tanzanians from the upcoming elections with their social media content.

Kimambi, in a lengthy Instagram post, labelled the couple’s posts as “stupid content” and warned them to take a five-month break from online activity. She further threatened that failure to do so could make Priscilla “hated” by Tanzanians.

In a swift and fiery response, Iyabo Ojo took to her own Instagram to rebuke Kimambi’s remarks, describing them as “intimidation” and affirming that she would not tolerate any attack on her daughter. She emphasized Priscilla’s right to express herself online and slammed Kimambi for issuing such warnings while residing in the United States.

“I’m appalled by your audacity!” Ojo wrote. “Calling their content stupid, trying to drum fear and intimidation, this is unacceptable.”

She further addressed rumors surrounding Priscilla’s wedding, stating that the elaborate celebration was a cultural tradition funded by the bride’s family and not by any Tanzanian authority.

“As a parent, I’ve taught her to be confident and authentic,” Ojo added, noting that her daughter would continue to post freely and does not require Kimambi’s approval or affection.

The Nollywood star, who described herself as an activist, ended her statement with a warning: “We protect our own… Never forget that.”

As of press time, Mange Kimambi has not responded publicly to Iyabo Ojo’s statement.
