Ismael Garcia explains why Victor Osimhen is thriving at Galatasaray
Galatasaray assistant manager Ismael Garcia has praised Victor Osimhen for his impressive start to life at the Turkish club since joining on a one-year loan from Napoli in the summer.
Osimhen, the Nigerian international, has hit the ground running, scoring four goals and providing three assists in just seven appearances across all competitions for the Yellow and Reds.
Speaking about Osimhen’s seamless integration into the squad, Garcia highlighted the forward’s humility and work ethic. “He has been smart, humble, coming to our club,” Garcia told BBC. “The main part of the squad has been together for two years, winning back-to-back championships. But he came in a smart way, trying to be a part of it, not as a typical star. He was not expecting the club to adapt to him, but he has been very humble and hard-working.”
Garcia’s comments underline how Osimhen’s attitude has been key to his quick success at Galatasaray, where he is blending well with the team, rather than relying on his superstar status.
Osimhen will be looking to continue his strong form when Galatasaray face Tottenham Hotspur in a UEFA Europa League clash at the RAMS Park on Thursday (today).
