IPMAN announces big fuel price cut with Dangote Petrol
Good news for Nigerians! The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has announced that fuel prices will drop by N50 when bought directly from Dangote Petrol.
On Tuesday, November 12, Abubakar Maigandi, the National President of IPMAN, shared this exciting update in an interview with Channels Television.
He explained that Dangote Refinery has agreed to sell petrol to IPMAN members at a special price. The cost will be between N940 and N990 per litre for depots and trucks.
Thanks to this new deal, IPMAN members, who were previously selling petrol at prices between N1,150 and N1,200 per litre, will now lower the price by N50, depending on the location.
Maigandi explained, “Right now, we have two options for buying fuel from the refinery. We can either load it onto vessels to bring it to our depots for N940 per litre, or buy it at N990 per litre directly from the depots.”
For example, the current price of petrol in Maiduguri is N1,200 per litre, but with this new change, the price will drop to around N1,150, a N50 reduction. It could even go lower!
In case you missed it, on Monday, November 11, IPMAN revealed that Dangote Refinery would start selling petrol directly to its members. This marks the end of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) being the only one to buy Dangote Petrol.
Currently, Nigerians pay between N1,060 and N1,200 per litre of petrol at NNPCL retail stations and other gas stations.
