IGP Egbetokun meets with former police chiefs to improve policing strategies
On Wednesday, October 16, Inspector General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun held an important meeting with former Inspectors General of Police at the IGP’s Conference Hall in Abuja.
The goal was to discuss ways to enhance the effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force.
According to a statement from Force Public Relations Officer ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, this meeting was part of the current leadership’s vision for inclusivity.
The gathering aimed to encourage meaningful dialogue and benefit from the extensive experience of past IGPs to strengthen effective policing in Nigeria.
Among those present were retired IGPs Aliyu Attah, Sunday Ehindero, Mike Okiro, Mohammed Abubakar, and Alkali Baba Usman.
IGP Egbetokun praised the former police chiefs for their significant contributions, emphasizing how their leadership has helped reform the Nigeria Police Force and align it with global standards.
The retired IGPs also shared their insights with senior officers, including Assistant Inspectors General and Commissioners of Police, to help shape future policing strategies.
